Working with residents who have a sensory handicap
Touch - Collecting items from the past encourages residents to reminisce and communicate through story telling.
Smell - Designing a 'smell bag' out of an assortment of herbs, spices, perfumes and soaps to stimulate our residents senses. Smell can be one of the most provocative of our senses and this activity recaptures moments from childhood onwards.
Sound - Old records, name that tune games and sing-a-long sessions all help to evoke memories from days gone by and helps keeping minds alert.
